Our company produces more that 2 national events and 5 major local events per year. Each event draws 250-1000 participants around the country. The events feature entertainment, community networking opportunities, vendors, fashion and more.

About the marketing positions:
As an intern on our Atlanta, Detroit or Las Vegas marketing team, you will be an integral part of the success of our events.  You will also assist with both the day-to-day preparations for our events and also the long range marketing/promotions of the company. In addition to the specific responsibilities listed below, the intern is expected to assist in all aspects of staff support, administrative duties, and also to contribute to staff meetings and help prepare for weekly marketing meetings. The internship position is either unpaid, for college credit or commission based, part time (approximately 12-18 hours per week), and available to current students and professionals.

Qualifications:
Working towards undergraduate degree ??" must be eligible for internship college credit unless you have 2 years experience and are interested in working a commission based position.
Excellent writing and communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are a must
Professional phone manners
Computer literate and Internet savvy
Experienced user of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Team-oriented with strong sense of humor
Committed to gaining experience in the Marketing/PR field

Responsibilities:


Public relations
Compile and update media list ??" advertising outlets & pr targets
Draft press releases & pitch to local media; opportunity to learn from Yoga Journal Magazine???s in-house PR team
Generate coverage reports
Research/media hunt for newsworthy information about the yoga market, our event sponsors and their competitors.


Web:
Research untapped online marketing opportunities and present to team
Examine social network marketing, possibility of blogging about events

Maintain the social sites that include Face Book, Twitter, Ning and MySpace
Locate online advertising/marketing partnerships/trades
Update & proof read the company website

Writing/Copyediting:
Assist with copyediting of promotional materials.
Assist with transfer of materials between marketing team and in-house designers.

Post-Event Tracking:
Maintain & update event demographic reports
Assist in generating event summary reports for sponsors
Build, update and maintain the mailing list

Administrative and Research:
Organize and categorize event photography for use in promotional materials.
Research potential new advertisers/vendors and maintain list of past advertisers.
Label printing, packet stuffing, brochure mailing, copying and other administrative tasks as needed.
Assist with coordinating printings (flyers, promo cards, t-shirts, etc)
